Well, not necesserely, it depends on the BIOS (you need the LKM sources
for agpart.h to compile, however). On my i810 machine at home I can run
without agpart with 2M video RAM. The i815 machine I played with provided
1M video ram without the agpart module.

Of course if you want more video RAM you need the agpart module.
