Whoops.....  I also comitted 2 other unrelated patches at the same time:

include/Makefile:    Add loadfile_machdep.h to list of include files to
                     install for this platform.

mipsco/autoconf.c:   Force any partition >=8 to partition 0 which helps
                     the kernel find the root partition
