I don't think they do change the game balance; this particular patch
simply changes an inappropriate error message into exactly what the game
would have done if you had used the verb "shoot" in the first place.  
(You shouldn't have to puzzle over what verb to use to do an action you've
decided to do.  The game already supports synonyms for various words for a
reason.)  I don't think it can reasonably be considered part of the game
balance that it is liable to crash on nonsense input either.

Do you have a particular change in mind which you think affects the game
balance?
