split isasearch (!__BROKEN_INDIRECT_CONFIG) completely off of
isascan (__BROKEN_INDIRECT_CONFIG), and attempt multiple match/attach
of cloning devices in isasearch().  (If a match/attach succeeds for
a cloning device, try it again.)
