I don't think the lawyers will care about this unless someone gives a
directive to them to stomp out all "free" unix-like OS's [which would be
insane anyway, as it would only hurt a commercial vendor even if you
ignored the bad politics it would cause]. In such a case they might use
such internal similarties as a lever.
This is why I mentioned POSIX. It *should* have been something they
delt with....

Yes, in fact if done in the right place it might even be transparent to
the current implementation (assuming one uses the default make rules,
which would also be a very silly assumption to ``make''). [sorry!]
