So.  Is there any hope for moving this to Xen 4.20 and a NetBSD 10.1 dom0,
or should I just leave well enough alone and phase this system out
entirely?  (I certainly want to do that in the long run, but it feels like
it could give me another couple years)

If I were to do an upgrade, can someone suggest a good order of operations
with fallback?  Apologies for the vagueness of this - but clearly I've been
out of Xen world for a while now.  :)
I can't see a show stopper here for 4.20.
But I would avoid upgrading both Xen and the dom0 OS at the same time.
So I would first go with Xen 4.18, which should work with netbsd-9
(maybe you'll have to upgrade the dom0 kernel to the latest 9-stable).

Then, if all is well I would upgrade the dom0 to netbsd-10, and then Xen
to 4.20

It's been a long time since I used pygrub; I think it has been deprecated
by Xen. But you can just copy the kernel to the dom0

This is very helpful.  As I've been digging back in, luckily a lot of this is becoming familiar again.  :)   I've so

far managed to at least remember how /boot.cfg and all that fits in, and I've done a from-scratch reboot just

to make sure it all comes back as expected - thus far, no problems, so I'll follow your suggestion and try

Xen 4.18 next!

Thanks,
