It's tested on a regular basis here:
http://www-soc.lip6.fr/~bouyer/NetBSD-tests/

but only for netbsd-10, netbsd-11 and head. I'd expect netbsd-9 to work as
well, although it will use only emulated devices.

Myabe connect to the graphical console of your domU and see if something
shows up there ?
