xl list says 1912, and 1904 results in an ok booting system, with "xl
list" showing 0.   So apparently it takes the amount you ask for plus 8
MB, and if you don't have it things just go badly instead of failing
nicely with "not enough RAM to start".

I'll try to stick a caution in the howto.  Not sure where this ought to
be fixed.
