I've committed a fix for the XSAVE support, it should now work in both
DOM0/DOMU when enabled by Xen on particular hardware.

Could anyone who had troubles in past check it out and let me know of
any fallout?

I don't have AMD hardware to test, so that would be of particular
interest. Even more, a AMD machine which support XSAVE and have it
enabled under Xen.
