so i got myself a BD25 female - BD25 female cross cable as i was
unsure if the MMJ one is working correctly. the 25 pins connector on
the vax can be used for this right? but now i get no text on the
screen, nothing happens when i press a key.

i tested the cable / terminal with my linux box and then it works
fine, i get a login prompt and can login fine. under normal
circumstances i should be able to get any output from the vaxes right?
even when there is no operating system available or even a disk in the
vax?

anything i can try?
