I'm not sure if the install program allows to install on it, but it is
possible to generate a tailored kernel that even runs on a 2MB machine
quite well (800k free ram).  I did it with 1.6 and I don't think it 
has grown too much since then.  It is some of the datastructures
that uses much space in a running kernel, and they will be smaller 
if there are less memory.
