Subject: compile kernel: Is the kernel different each time I compile one?

Good evening,
  I compiled kernel several times and I calculated the md5 sum and it
seemed unique each time I compiled a new one. I want to test my
controller by compiling kernel but if my guess is right, this method
won't work. Please let me know. Thank you.
