Just to add to Matt's information about the UK,
RS Components (rswww.com) do both pre-made MMJ/MMJ cables (although they are
straight through so will usually require chopping and reversing) and DB9/25
to MMJ converters.
They now sell to private individuals and are convenient if expensive.
