     Back in the days when I worked there (10+ years ago), we did it 
all the time. If I may humbly say so, I was one of their top cable 
makers. We would cut the wires from large spools, measure it to the 
customer's specification and install connectors, such as F-connectors 
on RG-58 coax, RJ-11 or RJ-45 on phone wire. We had a few guys who 
could install BNC, N-connectors or PL259 connectors, but I was never 
quite at home with a soldering iron.
