Wow! It's fixed! I have a single 47 gig partition which now has a complete 
sandbox and pkgsrc tree (for doing bulk builds), and I fsck'd -f it, and 
it's fine!

I wish I knew when and what was fixed so we could get it backported to 
1.6...
