4 Q/CD, 8 Q/Q and one slot outside the QBus card cage with power only
for the RQDXx dist panel. The slots are accessed from the right side. My
Tahoe running MV III houses in one.=20

Fife. You forgot the vertical drive bay on the left side. ;-)=20

3U?=20

3U!

3 Q/CD and 5 Q/Q. My PDP-11/73 lives in one.
I have a backplane from a dead BA23 and an empty enclosure from a dead
SGI Indogo. I have sick thoughts marrying them...=20

Well. The BA213 is a completely different beast. It has 12 Q/CD slots
accessed from the front. The slots have a wider spacing than in a BA123
or a BA23 so that QBus cards with "S-Box" handles can be inserted. It
can be rack mounted, but will need half of a "big boy" rack. (I have
done this with my BA213. So it is very comfortable to work on.) It has a
litle brother, the BA215. The BA215 is half a BA213 with only one PSU, 6
Q/CD slots and 3 drive bays (One for half height drives only.)

Back to the original topic of MP KA630. There is an other option too:
Individual KA630 with private memory using the QBus as cluster
interconnect and shared IO bus?=20
Or some kind of NUMA? Say we have 4 KA630 with 16 MB each. Each KA630
gets 4 MB "local" RAM and the other 12 MB as "cache" for the local ram
of the other 3 CPUs?=20
But I think it would be easier to get a VAXstation 3540 and port NetBSD
to it to get "desk side VAX SMP". (Hmm. How big is a 8200?)
