Quite a while ago, I wrote something I called "serialconsole" for just
this purpose: use of machines' serial ports to manage serial consoles
for other machines.

I've put a copy at
ftp.netbsd.org:/pub/NetBSD/misc/mouse/hacks/serialconsole.c for anyone
who's interested.
