I just tried the 1.6P snapshot boot.fs and it does not work
on mscp tk50. IFF you are fortunate enough to happen
to have a scsi controller AND a scsi floppy assembly from
an old DEC/VAX station thingy, you CAN boot that off the
mscp scsi controller, although it becomes unreadable after
booting. It is sufficient to get it up, at least. But, the tape
booting, native way, still seems broken in current. My sense
is that it has no mscp support, since this time it DID boot
to the boot prompt, but after that it could NOT find any
kernel. The SAME image (boot.fs) on the floppy booted and
loaded kernel fine off the scsi floppy on the mscp controller.
To me that suggests that there is no mscp tape support
in the boot, anymore that works.

Anyone know if there is any possibility of getting such tk50
boot capability by NetBSD-1.7? Granted we be stupid folks
to want to boot off tk50, but, that is the one true native way
on MVII and MVIII critters, and it would be nice if NetBSD
VAX did support that as long as we support MVII and MVIII
critters. Not everyone has a scsi controller and a scsi floppy
to press into service, in a pinch.

Just thinking out loud.....(:+}}...., respectfully.....

Thanks
