I downloaded the file and unziped it to dka100:[firmware] as suggested
in the VS4000.doc as I do not have a machine that I can do a mop boot
from. I use the b/100 dka100 proceedure from the vs4000.doc.

>>>b/100 dka100
bootfile: [firmware]cougar_dsk.sys

I get this:
-dka100
%vmb-f-err, pc=00001340
%vmb-i-sts, ro=0000081a
?06 halt inst
  pc=0000167f psl=041f0000

>>>

rather than anything resembling a flash update. Has anyone else used
this update in disk mode? Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks,

William
