I used a DECstation 5000/240 with TC ethernet as router / nat gateway /
firewall / VPN tunnel endpoint with NetBSD 1.5 for nearly a year and
it worked perfectly.
There where some issues with the TC ethernet card on Alpha, but they
seamed to be solved.
