I'm glad to help. Most developers in both NetBSD and OpenBSD recognize
the usefulness of sharing as much as possible between the two os's, to
reduce needless duplication of effort and extend the userbase code may
be exposed to in testing for bugs.

It's ridiculous that the enmity of a half dozen higherups who had a
falling out soon after the genesis of NetBSD should continue to play
itself out with petty mailing list policies.

I stress that I am not requesting a personal exemption for myself, or
guaranteeing that all future mail from @openbsd.org will be completely
benign in content. I simply find the current policy stupid, and point
out that if someone wants to flame they can provide themselves with a
throw-away address, whereas if someone wants to help then it's rather
desirable to have a consistent one!

This email address has been committed to the (rather impressive) volume
of spam it receives through postings on other lists, and I do not want
to compound the quanity I receive by changing now, silently endorsing
a policy most NetBSD users (and developers) didn't even know about.

As I write this, your moderator has mailed me to explain that several
of my lost postings from previous weeks had simply not yet been sifted
from his spam folder and forwarded to the list. I hope this reply will
cover some of the questions he put to me as well.

Regards,
