I did some testing today

First, I installed 1.6Beta on a Vax 3100-48. I copied the install =
program to a harddisk because I don't
have a floppy drive.
I found two problems in the install program;

It is impossible to set the time zone, the screen keeps refreshing, the =
program does not respond to
keyboard input. I could only exit the time zone screen en continue the =
installation.

Secondly I could not set a password, the program gave me a message:

command passwd -l root
sysinst:exevp passwd:Exec format error

Despite these problems I did finish the installation on my 3100.

Next, I made a boot tape using dd if=3Dboot.fs of=3D/dev/rst0 on my 3100

I tried to boot my 3100 from it, it did not work, see the messages below

Next, I wanted to boot my 4000-105a from the harddisk that has the =
boot.fs on it.
This is the same disk I booted the 3100 from. No luck, I can hear the =
disk doing seeks,=20
but nothing happens.

I also tried the boot tape, no luck either. See the messages below.

Yes, it is supposed to anyway.

Please try the Beta releases, if something don't work we may be able to =
fix
it before the release. (That's the point with beta releases :-)
