Can a BC05 cable be used on a MVII patch panel
for console output PROVIDED one mounts a little
spdt switch on the patch panel between the idiot
light and the serial connector? I am thinking
that the only difference between the BC05 and
the BC08 cable are the 8-9 pin jumper used to
indicate presence of a console rather than a
printer? Can someone confirm or clarify that
for me?

One could easily put a little switch in there
to toggle the 8-9 open closed and maybe label
it printer/console so that either the BC05 or
BC08 cables could be used?

Would such a thing work?

Just thinking out loud again....(:+}}...

Thanks

Bob
