Dave, we must be brothers in mind. ;-)
I would say it with other words, but my opinion is basicly the same.
Not to say about jokes like changing the whole VM system in the 
release kernel, a new IP filter each release, incomplete file
systems (reiser + quota), messed up und unstructured code, calling
GCCisms in the kernel code a Good Thing, ...
This is only the kernel. If it comes to distributions, ohh my 
holy Daemon. One word: SuSE.
Last but not less sucking: The everage Linux user (Luser), 
programmer, admin... 

BTW: If you have to use Linux to get your bills paid, 
RockLinux is the least worst distribution I have seen.
