well i had this problem too, using
a TK50z on a Adaptec 2940 with
a i386 running NetBSD1.5.2.
now i use it on my DECstation
5000/200 running NetBSD1.5.2 without
any error.
there is a solution to get it running,
a patched scsiconf.c, it was posted
in this mailing list:
