I was watching the "messages" log, which is where DHCP requests are logged
- no such request.

Good idea - I just have a simple hub,though for all of those machines.
Something to keep in mind, though.

I'm pretty sure I got the dhcpd.conf entry correct, I cross-checked it with
what I set up at the office and they both "agree". Static ARP may be the
next step...
Brian - thanks for the tips. I'm starting to get a much clearer picture of
how this stuff works......
