This information is allegedly in the source tree src/install. If you search
for iso image in the archives of this list and current-users you will find
some pointers to documentation on the netbsd.org web site as well. If you
succeed and write up a HOWTO document and advertise it here, several people
will thank you for it.

The new one or the old one? Make sure you reference the one from the vax
pages on the NetBSD site.

There must be some message if you know the kernel is loaded :-)

To start, you need to capture the output of the boot sequence. You can do
this easily by using a terminal emulator to talk to the VLC rather than a
serial terminal.

If however, and something tells me this is going to hurt, you have started
by using the built in frame buffer of the VLC and its keyboard, you will
find that this "mode" is _not_ supported by NetBSD and that is your first
problem. I have no idea how we might get wscons support written for the
VLC's frame buffer options.
