ok, got it stuffed back in the /500, hooked a console up to it, and the reason
for the tape thing is that SCSI IDs 0-4 are setup as disks and 5 & 6 are setup
as tapes.  that's fine, just gotta remember that (and to remember to change it
if i ever want more than 5 disks on it, heh)
