Hmm, well the CQD-223/TM manual seems to disagree with this statement. It 
says CQD-223/423 /TM supports disks and tape simultaneously. (And I'm using 
one that way on a 3600 that has three WREN drives and a 8MM deck.

Now the CQD-200 wouldn't support both, but the 223, 423, and 443 all do. 
Pulling W6-5, W6-6, and W6-7 out will disable tape support.

As for the CD showing up as a tape, connect the terminal to the MMJ on the 
SCSI card and tell it to reconfigure the card, do a reset. Then use option 
D to see what devices it sees on the bus.
