Take a look at the (somewhat sparse) site put up by Bruce Dodson:

http://www.lehigh.edu/~bad0/cu5283p.html

It's an attemt to factor 5^283+1, or:
64344469868350361476736902168396112107604744765432785339830096588794\

My VAX just sits there all day and night, and occasionally gets to answer
a DNS query, so I feel bad. Since Sixgirls Computing Labs volunteered in
the last sieving run (2^773+1), I decided to volunteer for this one, too.
I know the VAX won't do much, but it will do SOMETHING, and maybe it won't
be so bored.
