Dunno, exactly.  The V6 code is all uncommented, so I will have to snoop
around some in it and try a compile.  Right now, I am not exactly sure
what it is doing, but the readme that came with it suggested it did
a paging output directly from troff as a pipe.  That could not be all
that slow, or it would not have been done that way on a relatively
slow V6 (PDP-11 or Interdata) machine.
