Hmmm, I'll have to look thru my cards and cab kits.  I think you can connect 
a single cable from the controller to the drive avoiding the cab kit and it's 
cost.  If you do use the cab kit you need 3 cables and 2 cab kits.  The 
drives had 2 cables coming out from them, channel A and channel B.  You can 
use one of them to connect directly to the controller.  I'll be able to check 
tuesday if that is correct or maybe someone else remembers better.  Best bet 
is to get the DSSI drive running though.
