Hello, all,

The time has come for me to finally get this VAXStation running. Like any
other system, bootstrapping for the first time is always an adventure...

I don't have a VAX monitor, nor do I have a proper serial line, but I did
make a serial line connecting pin 2 on the RJ25 type connector to pin 2 on
a DB25, pin 5 to pin 3, and pins 3 and 4 to pin 7. This didn't work, so I
tried swapping pins 2 and 3 on the DB25. Both times, I didn't get anything
on my Amiga running minicom (it was set to 9600n81).

After the machine was running for a few minutes, though, I did hear an
interesting but short set of sounds; now my diagnostic LEDs are resting
with 7, 6, 5, 4, 1, and 0 on, with 3 and 2 off.

Does anyone know how I should proceed? Does the serial port on the 4000
need the handshaking lines to be set? Does it not like to talk to RS-232?

Thanks,
John Klos
