I'm somewhat behind with my mail, so I'm just now reading the "Compiler
timings on varous MVII NetBSDs etc." thread. Someone suggested
cross-compiling somewhere...

Over a year ago, I already submitted pr pkg/9547 with a bunch of
patches, which is a first step in this. I never finished my work to get
a full VAX cross-compiler going, and I forget what the exact reason for
that was.

Maybe somebody can do something with these patches?
