rather off topic, but having all the pictures available online i won't ever
have to post again to the list.

i have aquired an Invincible Technologies Ultimate-5 SCSI attached hardware RAID
unit. i have found that ITC has fallen off the face of the planet and i'm
having a hard time finding documentation on this thing (or even people who have
heard of ITC for that matter)

here is what i know, or have learned since i started poking around:

This thing is some serious hardware. whoever ITC was, they made some quality
stuff. The other thing is the one i have has labels on all the drive sleds
marking their IDs as stuff like DUA700 and DUA803 so to me this looks like it
was hooked to a CI SCSI controller. and what has CI? my favorite hardware.

but as i also learned, the last offering by ITC was this rediculously redundant
beast that was built using two Alpha boxes, and if any single piece of it would
break the thing could fail-over faster than anyone would know it was broken.

sadly, that's all i've been able to figure out, so since this one was hooked to
a VAX and the last one they made was hooked to Alpha boxes i'm hoping someone
on one of these two lists has run across one of these things before. i was
hoping for a plug it together and it magically works situation, but after
researching and inspecting the hardware, i strongly believe that this thing is
going to require some configuring. the disk pack looks like it has a serial
console to the controller boards, so i'm going to hang a terminal off of it
and power it on one day.

i'm just hoping that someone can scare up some documentation for this thing
since it looks like it's something i really want to get running.

thank you for your time and effort, and please reply privately since this is
such an off topic thread, if requested i can post a summary after i get info.

cheers,
