Why not use KZQSA ? They are cheap and easy to find (nobody wants them!)
Of course, it would be difficult to boot with them, but its a good
compromise.
And yes, they can support hard drives. They are just a little too much
out of (SCSI) specs to be marketed as such, but they can, with some
restrictions.
