Keep an eye open for items like the Winchester Systems SCSI/DSSI
converter. I got one for $30 on ebay. I have successfully installed MIPS
Ultrix on an old SCSI drive and booted my DECsystem 5400 through the DSSI
converter.

If DSSI support is lacking for your particular machine it is something
that might prove useful eventually.
