wasn't there talk (started by Bob i believe) of supplying a stripped down "low
memory footprint" install kernel for the VAX platform?  it's not so uncommon
to see small amounts of memory in the VAX class machines since they seemed to
perform amazingly well with very little memory.

maybe it's time to revisit that, or at least make one available right in the
same spot where one would get NetBSD in the first place.  or even just make it
the default since there is a whole slew of hardware that doesn't need support
compiled in for the VAXen since it never has been or never will be available.

just curious what the status of that is.
