Well thank you for that - its exactly how far I got, and everyone said
that it was because I was using RARP instead of DHCP, which is quite
obviously not the right answer. I have been trying for *years* to get my
VAX to boot anything other than the knackered version of VMS that's on
its hard disk, so if you ever find out how to get further, I'd be
interested to know :-)
