I'm now really confused...(thought I was before...hehe...)
OK, vax (marvin) gets his IP using BOOTPARAMS (having recompiled MOPD),
but the "bootparamd: whoami call" fails.
I'm thinking that this all has something to do with mountd/nfsd not working,
but I don't understand it ... 4 hrs of reading & browsing archives doesn't
seem
to have helped me at all (time for a smoke...)
Anyone got any suggestions?

Terminal output is:
----------------
Trying BOOTP
bootp: no reply
Trying BOOTPARAMS
boot: client IP address: 192.168.0.100
bootparamd: 'whoami' call failed
nfs_open: must mount first.
Boot failed: Device not configured
