1)  make sure the plextor CD-ROM is set for 512 byte blocks.  They might
    indicate this in the manual with "set this jumper for unix"

2)  be aware that vs3100's can be very pick about what cd-rom drive they
    will boot from and it may just not like your's.

however, the wasabi cd _should_ boot on a vax.
