The "looses all configuration" means that it will get a default startup
configuration, which also have a password. I think it is "SYSTEM", but I
don't remember for sure. If it isn't, let me know, and I'll try to look it
up in the manuals.

And it's port 1 that is "special". You get some output there before the
system boots up, but apart from that, it's nothing special.
