I had not thought about that.  All were compiled from their generic
installed kernel.  The 4.3BSD machine has 6mb ram and esdi drives,
and the NetBSD box has 13mb ram and scsi drives.

I will retry the kernel compiles from the stripped kernels and see
if that makes much difference.
