this is what i've done.  i've got two Cabletron MAUs (AUI hub) that i'm using
to hang all my AUI stuff off of.  so far it's working out a lot better than
having a transciever hanging off the back of everything.

if you're only going to have one box that need the trans, then the trans is the
way to go, but if you are starting to build a collection, the MAU is the way
to go.
