Hello,
I have a VAXstation 4000/60.
I have always had this problem since release 1.4
Upgrading the system did not fix this problem.
Eventually it happens that my system hangs suddently.
Pressing the reset button does not make the PROM prompt appear and I have
to power cycle the system. I cannot explain what is the problem which
generate the system halt... the system is like halted.
Nothing is disaplayed using serial console, just like if the system is
dead.
It happens all of a sudden in a unpredictable way.
After the power cycling and after the fsck the system comes always up
again and working properly. I think this problem since July happened to me
at least 10 times. The last time is now, I Was compiling ncurses-5.2 and
the system suddently died.
I have no traceback for this.
The only thing is the last command which tells me crash.
Nothing in the log files.
But there is no core kernel dumps so I do not know why this things keeps
happening about twice a month. Do you think it could be a problem due to
an intrinsic instability of NetBSD with the 4000/60 ??
or it might be my 4000/60 hardware ??
The PROM tests pass all my ahrdware as OK.
Anyone has some suggestion ??

thanks

Rick
