thanks for your info. I did download from the url
and the timestamp for the file is "Nov 17, 2000".
I also have a file name 08002b1ddc29.SYS
ln -s to the boot.map file.

However, I will try to delete all my download today
and redownload everything from

    ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/NetBSD-1.5/vax/

Hope this clean download can solve this problem
