Sysinst (1.4.3): VS3100 M76

The installation process is working perfect until it tries to unpack the
base.tgz. After unpacking 5-10 minutes there is coming a lot of error
messages(30-40) like this:

/: write failed, file system is full
pax: Unable to store mode and times for created directory: ./var/at
...
...

It is only the base.tgz that is giving error messages.

My disk is set up like this:
[sd0a]:/ 32Mb
[sd0b]:swap 96Mb
[sd0d]:/usr 1677Mb
[sd0e]:/var 200Mb

None of the partitions are actually full as far as I can see, so I dont
understand how I can avoid this problem.

Do you know how this can be solved?
