Finally got some excerpts from the VAXstation 3100 maintenance manual
(EK-285AA-MG), thanks to Allen Smidt.

I checked a bit more, and it goes:
	1111 1111
	1111 0000
back:	1110 0000
	1101 0000 (very fast)
	1100 0000
goto back;

What am I to make of it?

Bad serial device?
