This leads me to two questions, for anyone who cares to answer them:

- In what jurisdictions is LAT believed to be patented?

- And since (a) I infer from the above that the USA is one of them and
  (b) USA patent text tends to be available online, what's the patent
  number in the USA?

I'm contemplating doing LAT for NetBSD[%] but want to make sure that
I'm allowed to.  (And, depending on the level of detail, the patent
could be useful as documentation.)

[%] Actually, since TNF is USA-centric enough that I doubt they would
    pick it up, for NetBSD users in other jurisdictions.
