There's still the problem with pcc not being free software, of course.
If you can get SCO, errm. *cough* Caldera (or whoever holds the rights
on the old Unix stuff right now) to release it that would be nice.
And frankly, I doubt, that pcc produces better code than gcc does, so
before you decide on digging up old corpses long rotten, you'd probably
want to identify the speed bottlenecks first (in compiler, and/or
operating system).
